These tests are not strictly hematological tests. However, because CBCs traditionally use lavender top tubes usually all tests performed on lavender top tubes are routed through the hematology lab. The highest volume of these miscellaneous tests are the, hemoglobin A1C, BNP (brain natriuertic -or N type- peptide) and ESR (erythrocyte sedementation rate). Other tests may include cyclosporin, tacrolimus (FK507), and others.
